Frank G. Allen to use his influence to prevent passage of the | resolution. They termed it “a wet memorial likely to be construed as an invitation to every g and rack- eteer to come into Massachusetts and ply his nefarious trade. The signers of the appeal to Gov, Allen said they d under the influ- ence of atements made in a recent speech here by U. S. Attorney Frederick & who told the Professional Club that several banks were under suspicion of deliberately financ- ing illegal liquor traffic. The House voted against memorial- izing Congress for repeal by a vote of 130 to 70. | S ACTION. WISCONSIN State and National Referendum on 2.75 Beer Sought by Senate.
