SRR QUANTITY OF Lorite THE EVENING STAR, WASHINGTON, D. C. MONDAY, JANUARY 28, 1929. 25 Gas ew Home Chlorine Treatment a Revelation in its Simplicity Out of the Chemical Warfare Service of the U. S. Army several years ago, there came by a strange twist of fate, one of the great peace-time benefits for man- kind. This was the discovery of the value of chiorine gas in the prevention and treatment of influenza, colds and other respiratory diseases. 2 3 * * Like many other important discoveries, this one car- ried the romance of the unexpected. It was practically accidental, starting with the observation that workers The great epidemic passed them by. @ . * Physicians naturally welcomed the new weapon chlo- rine in their fight against influenza and grippe. Special ~ gas chambers were prepared. Even home apparatus was devised. But it was complicated. And the whole treatment, in order to be effective, consumed a con- siderable amount of time. < L 4 L 4 Now the stage is all set for the next step—chlorine gas inhalations at home, without apparatus. A bottle of Zonite, a flat non-metallic dish, and a stove or radiator—that is all. Very simple. And Zonite is available anywhere in the United States. L 4 * L 4 When you heat Zonite over a stove as directed, the chlorine gas released is genuine free, active, nascent chlorive. It is more active in its germicidal quafities than the ordinary malecular chlorine used in the chamber-treatments. ES ® & Pour into the dish enough Zonite barely to coverthe bottom; add a pinch of baking powder to the Zonite, Put it on the radiator. Start inhaling the chlorine vapor as soon as it rises. L 4 L J L 2 Inhafe naturally. Hold the nostrils close downstodhe dish. Keep the Zonite below boiling point,, L 2 L 2 ® Some people dislike the taste and odor of chiforine, but they will find this nascent chlorine different. Ne discomfort at all. Very satisfying. * * * Inhale at frequent intervals for a stretch of fifteen minutes. Do it twice a day. For convenience the dish may be lifted from the radiator and the chlorine in- haled while sitting comfortably in a chair. . © © Zonite provides chlorine gas in a super-penetrating form.
