During the coming week a temporary lighting arrangement will be placed on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, Lieut. Col. U. 8. Grant, 3d, director of office of public buildings and public parks, said today, as a further study of the feasibility of having the memorial open to the public at night. Recent investi- gations have convinced Col. Grant that, with the exception of the lighting of the steps and the danger to the safety of the public because of darkness, it is considered feasible to have the memorial open at night. If a satisfactory lighting arrange- ment of the steps can be made without detracting from the lighting effect of the memorial itself, Col. Grant said that the public will likely be free to view this beauty of Washington after sundown. o POCKETBOOK, — Lizard, _envelope shape, containing small amount of money, pictures and visiting cards; lost in Lansburgh's Dept.
