Faust, Re- publican, of Missouri died late last night at the Naval Hospital, where he He was 49 years old. Mr. Faust was gn active member of the House and a member of the im portant ways and means committee. He was regarded as an expert on tariif problem: He was serving his fourth term in the House and had been electe:l to the Seventy-first Congress in the last general elections. His early days were spent on a farm near Bellefontaine, Ohio, where he was born. With his family, he moved to Hamilton, Kans., and was graduated from the law department of the Univer- sity of Kansas in 1903. After his graduation he practiced law in St. Joseph, sérving as city counselor from 1915 to 1919. Funeral arrangements have not been completed. An ambitious part in the prospective tariff revision had been mapped out for the Missourian. He had been selected as. chairman of the subcommittee, which, after hearings have been con- cluded in late February, will have manufacturers’ schedules. He also had been chosen a member of subcommittee on the free list and chemicals, ils and points.
