A resolution pledging its continued support to the movement to establish a national Lutheran College for Wom- who with Rev. G. M. Diffenderfer, pas- tor of the Lutheran Place Memorial Church, represent the Lutheran Churches of the District on the board. ‘The Washington Lutheran Churches are now engaged in a 10-day intensive campaign to raise $100,000 to purchase a 189-acre tract near Wheaton, Md., as a site for the pi d college. Ap- proximately $43,000 already has been subscribed. Pledges Continued Support. “The board of eduuflon of the Unit- ed Lutheran Church,” said the resolu- tion, “has heard wit.h great pleasure of the progress being made toward the establishment of the women’s Lutheran College. It pledges its continued sup- port of the work of establishing the college and it expects to continue its nnancm ald. for the full financing of the wnmc tion and endowment program.” Dr. Showalter, who is also a memlnr of the campaign executive committee, pointed out that plans have been ten- tatively made to break ground for the college next Summer and to have the first unit completed in 1931. The campaign leaders and workers will meet again in the Luther Place Memorial Church this afternoon at 5:30 o'clock. Reports will be made by leaders of the soliciting groups.
