The Secretary of State, Mr. Kellogg, was joined this morning by Mrs. Kel- logg, who has been in their home in St. Paul for a (orml‘ht Mrs. Willlam Fairfield Whiting, wife of the Secretary of Commerce, Wwas | called to Holyoke, Mass., this morning by the death of her mother. Chinese Envoy and Mme. Sze Feted at Dinner Last Evening. The Chinese Minister and Mme. Sze ‘were mon&rthe guests at dinner last evening of and Mrs. L. H. The newly appointed Ecuador and Senora de Zaldumbide and Senor Dr. Humbert Albornoz of Quito, Ecuador, shared honors at the luncheon which the director general of the Pan- American Union, Dr. Leo 8. Rowe, gave today in the Pan-American Annex. Others in the company were Senor Don Juan Barberis, charge d'affaires of Ecuador; Senor Don Carlos Mantilla, attache of the legation of Ecuador; Dr. Rufus B. von Klein Smid, president of the University of Southern California, and Dr. Paul P. Cret of Philadelphia. The newly appointed Minister and Senora de Zaldumbide have taken an apartment in Wardman Park Hotel. Senator and Mrs. Charles L. McNary of Oregon have returned to Washing- ton and have opened their apartment at the Mayflower. Representative and Mrs, Allen T, Minister of t Tea in the doing work in the historic section of the Army War College. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Park arrived in ‘Washington yesterday from New York and are at the Willard Hotel for a short visit. They were accompanied by thelr daughter, Miss Suzanne Park. Mrs. William Fitch Kelley will enter- tain at tea Saturday, November 17, in compliment to her son and daughter- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. McClure Kelley, the latter formerly Miss Theodoria Catalani, whose marriage took place in the late Summer in the home of Mrs. Henry F.
