Out of 68 cities in the Middle West 42 reported no change from last year, 22 indicated decreases in rents and in 4 there were increases. In the Far West there were no changes in 16 cities out of a total of 23, decreases in 3 and increases in 4 cities. In 13 cities of the 25 largest in the country rents were reported as showing practically no change from July, 1927, to July, 1928. These cities were Bos- ton, Mass.; Buffalo, N. Y.; Cleveland, Ohio; Los Angeles, Calil Cincinnati, Ohio; Jersey Ctiy, N. J.; Kansas City. Mo.; St. Louis, Mo.; Kansas City, Kans.; Milwaukee, Wis. inneapolis, Minn.; New York, N. Portland, Oreg., and Rochester, N. Y.
