Funeral services for John Plerce Miller; widely known newspaper man and political writer of this city, who died at his home, 4618 Thirty-eighth street, yesterday, will be conducted at the residence tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. William G. Branch, rector of St. Thomas' Episcopal Church of Croome, Md., will officiate. Inter- ment will be in’ Glenwood Cemetery. Members of the Gridiron Club, of which Mr. Miller was a member, will serve as pallbeare Mr. Miller, who was 65 years, old, was chief political- writer for The Star for nearly 20 years until 1901, when he left to become chief of the Wash- ington bureau of the Baltimore Sun. He served in the latter capacity until 1010. He then engaged in private business and publicity work. Besides being a member of the Grid- iron Club, Mr. Miller also was a mem-~ ber of the National Press Club and the Academy of Political Sclence. Mrs. Hannah Campbell, widow of Robert G. Campbell, who died Febru- ary 16, left an cstate in excess of $100,- 000, according to the petition of her daughter, Anna Campbell, and her son, Joseph D. Campbell, for letters of a ministration on her estate. Mrs. Camp- bell was given a life interest in her husband's estate, which included bonds of $47,000 in addition to 60 shares of American Sugar Refining stock and 110 shares of Firemen's In- surance Co. stock.
