HOUSTON, Tex., February 8.—Pro- motion of a “company union” to dis- place the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks in alleged violation of the rail- way labor act has left four officials of the Southern Pacific lines of Texas end Louisiana facing recommendations for prosecution for criminal contempt unless the brotherhood is recognizea Federal Judge J. C. Hutcheson in recommending criminal contempt pro- coedings vesterday indicated the four could purge themselves of such charges only by restoring the brotherhood as the official labor body of the com- pany's clerical employes and by dis- golving the association of clerical em- ploves, fostered by the company. Judge Hutcheson's _edict forecast sentences for the four Friday in a civil contempt case, in which they were found to have violated an injunction restraining them from interference with operation of the brotherhood.
