There 1s no better method of bringing to a room the elusive “lived-in" quality than that of providing in some appro- priate ngot a permanent place for the books which are so important a feature of the home and so personal in relatiofi to its occupants. Nor is it necessary to make the living room a hookish place, with its connotations of reserve and deep study. Rather do modern books in their col- orful bindings add life and interest to the atmosphere of a room. When they place they have a quality of pecomiiz part and parcel of the home interior. A recess near the fireplace is a par- ticularly appropriate place for the buflt- in_bookcase, and odd corners can be utilized for shelves which will accom- modate a surprising number of books The tendency in making bookcases to- day is to provide shelves of varying height and, sometimes varying depths 50 that all types of volumes can be ac- | commodated. The modern decorator strives to make the hookcases fit the books, rather than to provide shelves of arbitrary size, into which some books fit \mh height to spare and others not are provided with a safe and permanentat all MWoodward & Lothron WOODWARD & LOTHRO MANUFACTURING PLAN P NT South Capitol, Canal and D Streets Four moving picture theaters, under | which there were men and women the patronage of the ministry n( public | Ocampo denies the charge and claims instruction and used exclusively for r'\-‘)ns reputation has been affected ad- Ilulmlunu to scheol instit inl . have | versely by the charge, made December | been opened In Sofia, Buigaria. 1 6 last. a deep | Bokara rug because-of the rich deep we mens {reds and vibrant blues. k., the bal- The lighting consists of a single star 5 Irntern hanging from the center of the rd \(nhhod from one to the other | ling. of a handrail.
