CHICAGO, November 30.—Mayor William Hale Thompson, in a 1,500- word telegram to the New York World yesterday, delivered himself of several caustic retorts to criticisms of his cru- ®ade against pro-British histories. THOMAS, Ontario, Novem- ber 30.—A request that 13-year-old Edward Horlick be released from Mimico Reformatory so that he may head a “clean-up” movement among the youths of the village of Port Burwell has been forwarded to the Ontario_government by the Ontario Boys' Work Board. - Horlick is serving an indetermi- nate term after being convicted of selling liquor. It is said that there is much illicit liquor traffic in the vicinity of the village. FIRE FOLLOWS THREATS. | Blaze in Home Is Attributed to Incendiarism. A fire, believed to be of incendiary origin, which broke out in the resi- dence of Mrs. John Warren, colored, 610 Callan street northeast vesterday was extinguished by firemen from the twelfth and thirteenth engine com- panies.
