He is Chief Justice Willlam Howard Taft and the son is Charles P. Taft, 2d, Ohio prosecutor and Y. M. C. A. leader, who will deliver the principal address at the seventy-fifth anni- celebration of the Washington Y M A., in the Washington Audi- torium Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Mr. Taft has notified William XKnowles Cooper, general secretary of “the Y. M. C. As a result of its first day’'s cam- paign, the Young Women's Christian Asvoclation Is well on the way toward its goal of $60,000 for next year's ac- tivities at its six centers. Twenty teams of Washington women are busy rvaising the needed money. The total announced after yester- day's midday and evening meetings was $9.648.25. A meeting was held at 1 o'clock this afternoon, after which additional reports will be made. Speakers today were Mrs. Willlam Chapin Huntington and Mrs. Willlam D. Mitchell. Mrs. Mitchell was presi- dent of the Y. W. C. A. in St. Paul before coming to live here. Of the amount raised on the first day, $8.819.25 was reported at the luncheon meeting yesterday of 12 teams. Mrs. Wallace Radcliffe pre- sided and Dr. Frank W. Ballou, su- perintendent of schools, was the prin- cipal speaker. Cash Transfer Planned. HAVANA, Cuba, November 4 (#).— Arrangements are being made at the general treasury of the republic to send to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York about $700,000 in American silver and nickel coins.
