Stephan for disposition. Every officer and man in the camp has been given a station in the maneuver. The 29th Division Military Police Company, a District outfit, com- manded by Capt. Claude Burlingame, has been turned into a scouting com- pany to take part in the maneuver, by which the men will get some relief from the monotonous infantry drill which they have been given on the parade grounds during the first week in camp. Oehmann Command Arrives. Col. John W. Oehmann, command- ing the 121st giment of Engineers, field training at Fort .. arrived in camp at | midnight last night to report to Gen. Stephan to handie the fleld enginecrs’ problems which are expected to con- front the division in its operations in the field. There will be no rest or relief for the officrs or men during the night. Realism will be given to the “battle” by the pyrotechnic display of the sig- mnal companies flashing their messages should their electric lines fafl and by the maneuvers of the division air equadron now at Martinsburg, W. Va., which will hover over the battle area during the operation, carrying out the orders of Gen. Stephan. Gen,_ Stephan went to Martinsburg yesterday to confer with the air squad- ron commander and flew back to camp in a plane, sending his aides back overland. When he landed on the parade ground he was met by Assistant Secretary of War Hanford MacNider, who paid a visit to the camp to view the activities of the di- vision troops. Umpires of Situation. The efforts of the Guard officers in handling the “battle” situation will be umpired by Lieut. Col. Louis C. Brinton, jr., instructor of the District Guard and chief instructor of the 29th Division, and Lieut. Col. R, H. Leavit, attached to the 3d Corps area headquarters at Baltimore, Md.. who has been especially detailed here for the field operation. | The troops in the camp are under the command of Maj. Edward H. Stephan said that he plans to have the District Engineer Regiment come here for its training next year if the Militia Bureau can be prevailed upon to allow necessary funds for the transportation of the troops, as he believes that they could obtain much | valuable engineering training in this wrea. Wyoming and Missouri River Line Can Abandon System. Permission to abandon its 18-mile Hne running from Bell Fourche, §. to Aladdin, Wyo., was given th ming and Missouri River Railw day by the Interstate Commerce Com- mission. The commission decided that there was no prospect that the line could be kept in profitable operation. At the same time its owners were in- structed to offer the road for sale to any person willing to operate, and, failing the appearance of any suc interests, were given authority to take up the rails. Will Abandon Railroad. Permission to abandon its 1S-mile | [ line in Pennsylvania was given by the Interstat> Commerce Commission to- day to the Johnsonburg Railroad C which runs from Johnsonburg to Cles mont.
