REQUEST FOR ALIMONY BRINGS BIGAMY CHARGE ‘Woman’s Divorce Decree of Year Ago Is Vacated and Prose- cution Is Ordered. By the Associated Press, CHICAGO, July 30.—A woman #sought to collect alimony in a superior court yesterday on a divorce granted .her a year ago, but before the hear- ing had ended her divorce decree had been vacated, her two children de- clared illegitimate, her husband charged with knowingly marrying a bigamist and the woman accused of amy. The woman, Mrs. Ida Lou Jenkins Willlams Sim, appeared before Su- perior Judge J. B. David seeking to collect $180 alimony from her former husband, Allan Alexander Sim. As the hearing progressed she confessed marrying Sim without obtaining a divorce from Arthur Williams of At- lanta, Ga., whom she married in 1916, and Sim admitted knowledge of this fact when he married her. As a result Judge David asked the State's attorney to investigate with 2 view to prosecution for bigamy. He said he believed that Chicago divorce courts were cluttered with many fraudulent divorces and advocated prosecution of every case that came to light.
