THE EVENING STAR, WASHINGTON, FATE OF GIRL STILL PUZLLES POLICE Rewards Offered for Young Woman and Sweetheart Who Disappeared. BY the Associated Press PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis, De- :mber 1.—Theories concerning the te of 22-year-old Clara Olion were erystallizing into definite shape today 8 officers and volunteer searchers for the girl and her Gale College swect- heart, Erdman Olson, 18, renewed €fforts to find the two—or their bodies. Many believed that the Crawford County hills, between the Kickapoo and the Mississippi, may hold the body of the younz woman. Private detectives employed by Chris Olson, the girl's father, plan to center their Search there. Others hold that Clara, who is not related to Erdman Olson, has been hiding since November 10 in St. Paul or Minneapolis. Following her disap- | pearance, her father found in her ! Toom a note in which Clara wrote that she would be back soon, and that she would have a “glad surprise” when she returned. Chris Olson interpreted this to mean his daughter expected to marry Erdman. Albert O'son, wh is a tobacco plant 1ike Chris Olson, today came to the defense Lf his son, for whom a warrant charging mu has been issued. “This whole thing.” he said, “grows out of an effort to make my boy marry Clara Olson. I don't care how this turns out, they'll find my boy has committed no crime.” Two_rewards. each for $200, have been offered, one for the girl and one for the boy. P MAKES APPEAL.
