Tne cottage, which they have had for many years, is that occupled by the father of the lustice, the late Oliver Wendell Holmes, the poet. A few years ago it was purchased by Justice Holmes and with its pretty gardens is one of the most attractive in the district. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Leiter. who! have heen spendinz the Summer at their lovely Edgewater house at Bev- erly Farms, have gone to the Vir- ginia Hot Springs for an Autumn tarry. The Leiters were among the notahle entertainers of the season and many Washington friends in of- fical and diplomatic circles were guests Assistant Secretary of State and Mrs. Leland Harrison, who have had the Silshee cottage at Reverly Cove, are returning to Washington after a most_interesting late season stay on the North Shore. Both Mr. and Mrs. son number friends in all of the colonies and Mr. Harrison has been especially. active in the Myopia set, where he has played golf with North Shore friends over the classic course. The Siamese legation on the North Shore. at Bass Rocks. has been closed for the season and Kdward H. Lof- first secretary, and mem- bers of his family are in Washing- | ton for the Winter months. The Sum- mer has been a particularly enjoy- able one for Mre. Loftus and mem- bers of the family. Mrs. Loftus Ras been a charming hostess and has done much entertaining at the Bass Rocks Country Clul, while her sons, Roderick and Reginald, have been rated amonz the best golf players in the Bass Kocks colony.
