CHICAGO, September 15.—A war- rant was issued yesterday for the ar- rest of G. C. McIntosh, Louisville, Ky., veterinarian, whom the State depart- ment of registration and education ac- cused of contributing to the death of the $100,000 race horse, Captain Hal, by unlicensed treatment. Captain Hal, owned by a syndicate of tobacco clerks at Louisville, died in his stall at the new Lincoln Fields track last week. At that time it was stated that a stable boy had adminis- tered poison accidentally instead of the medicine prescribed. The warrant was issued as a step the State department’s drive st “‘quacks.” cIntosh, according to Charles A. er, inspector in charge of the case, cribed a pint of cathartic for the A chemlical analysis of the small amount of the potion left in the bottle indicated that the pint had contained violent poison, the inspector said. The horse was insured for $25,000. Melntosh could not be found in Chicago last night, but Samuel L. An- tonow, assistant director of the de- ‘¢ | partment, said that if necessary ex- tradition proceedings would be in- voked to force him to svund trial. BALTIMORE, September 16.— Women played a big part in yes- terday's primary election, not only in Baltimore but throughout the State. Minding babjes for busy moth- ers was one of the tasks under- taken by Baltimore woman politi- cal workers in an effort to get tl.a feminine vote on record in the primaries. Autos driven by women of both parties were numerous in all parts of the city. The captains of the motor squads organized by the city-wide clubs of both parties in practically every ward, however, found that the women expected more than transportation to the polls. Many of them expected to attend to errands and marketing. The presence of a large number of woman judges and clerks at voting places throughout the city encouraged timid woman voters. ‘Will Report to Finance Officer. Maj.
