Day, 68 years old, 609 North Carolina avenue southeast, last Mondiy night and convinced a coroner’s jury at the District morgue that the collision which resulted in Mr. Day’s death was accidental. Witnesses indicatedgthat Mr. Day and his wife, Mrs. Emily Day, were crossing the street at Fifth and Seward square diagonally when they were struck by Sweeney's bicycle. Mrs. Day was only slightly injured. Young Sweeney, who s a Boy Scout and in the sixth grade at the ‘Wallach School, sald that he looked in all directions just before the acct- dent and after he had struck the couple he ran to the office of Dr. A. W. Valentine, where he lives, and had him come to the scene of the accident. Thomas O'Donnel 418 Seward square, first on the scene after ‘the accident, said that he called for an ambulance, but Mrs. Day absolutely refused to let them take her husband to the hospital. After Mr. Day was taken to. his home in a passing automobile, how- ever, he was removed to Providence Hospital late Monday night and died four hours later.
