Brown of the Traffic Bureau to break up the practice of drivers of automobiles cutting out of traffic Feminine Voting List Declines With Demand for Ages GREENVILLE, 8. C., July 29. ~—The requirement that women specify thelr ages may have caus- ed Greenville County to have en- rolied less than 756 per cent of its normal voting strergth. Returrs recelved by the county secretary show that the number of women enmolling was almost negligible. Twenty-three of the 80 pre- cincts of the county had reported 5,619, against a total of 7,617 en- rolled in 1924. The loss, the secretary said, was THE KV COMMUNISTS PLAN DRIVE ON STUDENTS Paying Their Expenses Part of Reported Scheme for In- tellectual Converts. By Radlo to The Star and Chicago Daily News. BERLIN, July 29.—Propagandists of the Third Internationale in Lenin- grad, aceording to information reach- ing Berlin, are planning to bulld in- tellectual Communist groups In all the g:d ful and dependent. Once they become strong enough, the clubs would protest against capitalist pro- fessors and collect information. Communist students would be es- pecially urged to enter university newspaper activities, and, as future leaders of the proletariat, learn to sway audiences. . If the larger aims are slow in ma- terializing, it is sald the students will meake good courlers, as students are readily accepted In forelgn countriesy like the United States. Boviet officials in Berlin deny the reports and state that the rumor may have risen from the fact that small groups of bona fide Russian students now are studying in German univer- sities. The two policemen spent two days at Twelfth and Massachu- setts avenue, #and as there was con- siderable improvement on the second day they shifted their scene of op- erations today to Eighteenth and Massachusetts avenue. The value of prohibiting parking on such traffic lanes in the busy times of the day was indicated by observations there, as two ‘lanes of traffic could easily move down, with- out blocking the left side of the street, but just before they left two drivers drove to the left side of the street and were given tickets to ap- pear in Police Court, where convic- tions have been obtained in the cases of all who have appeared. Three failed to answer the police summons, and warrants have been issued for their arrest. Many drivers, it was observed to- day, have not yet learned how to make turns where the traffic light system is in force, some turning left on the green signal, by which they entered the intersection, while others went over between the white lines directly in the path of pedestrian traffic.
