NEW YORK, June 12.—The stack market, gathering momentum on the upgrade for several days, with a fresh burst of strength. Heavy buying was based on reports that the company's business had continued at a record-breaking rate well into June. Other motor shares falled to keep pace with the upturn, although Chrysler, Stude- baker ‘and Mack Trucks registered tractional gains. Buoyancy of Leaders. The demand for other representa- tive industrials was stimulated by the unrestrained buoyancy of the leaders in this group: Du Pont moved up in sympathy with the rise in Gen- eral Motors, scoring a gain of more than 8 points, while numerous ad- vances of 1 to 3% points embraced Baldwin, American Can, Allied Chemi- cal, the American Woolen lissues, Electric_Refrigeration, General Elec- trlc, United States Rubber, Fisk Rub- ber, Houston Oil, Panhandle Produc- ing and Refining issues, Montgomery Ward, Shattuck stores and Wool- worth, * Rallroad shares failed to equal yes- terday's remarkable showing al- though several issues pushed ahead to the highest levels of the curent move- ment. New York Central, Atlantic Coast Line and Southern Railway were firm. By the Associated Press. CHICAGO, June 12.—Fine weather for harvesting of wheat in the South- west led to general selling here to- day and to lower prices for all grain. Wheat values closed weak at 1% to 2 cents net decline, corn % to 1 down, oats % to 1% off, and pro- visions varying from unchanged fig- ures to a setback of 30. With cutting of wheat well begun in Kansas and expected to be in full swing Monday throughout the south- ern part of the State, previous buyers were quick today to grasp profits on an early upturn in price here. Then speculative selling enlarged, houses with Eastern connections taking the lead, and with buying support for the market giving out. A widespread impression appeared to prevail that producers would try to rush wheat to market to take advantage of com- parative strength of cash premiums for wheat avallable to be delivered at once. A decidedly increased move- ment of wheat to primary centers was therefore soon expected. Some slowing down of cash demand here for wheat accompanied the down- ward swing of the market for future deliveries. The cash wheat trading basis in Chicago was quoted un- changed to 1 lower, the latter for hard Winter grades.
