LONDON, June 12.—The Women's Guild of Empire is “out to educate * women and teach them that they must think for themselves on 1n~| dustrial problems, and not be led like Camercs a flock of sheep,” declares Lady Kodaks .. Murfel Gore Browne, the newly elected president. The guild {s pledged to combat Com- munism and prevent strikes and lock- outs by means of arbitration. But Lady Murlel also says one of the chief objects is to secure the secret ballot for men in all industrial disputes. Would End Strikes. ““This, we belleve, will end strikes,” “Most men do t strikes and would vote for eful settlement by arbitration. But I go still further. I think women should have the right to vote in labor disputes. They suffer more by strikes than the men. It is they who have ntain the home and keep the on meager trike pay. Her brother, the present Earl of Dunmore, won the Victoria Cross for sallant_deeds in the South African war. So there is fighting blood in Lady Muriel's veins. Her husband is Col. Harold Gore Browne. Lady Muriel became interested in woman suffrage as a result of the self- sacrifice which she saw women of all classes make during the Great War. After women obtained the ballot she allied herself with the Guild of Em- pire and has since held office and per- -sonally managed campaigns to chtain funds for the ‘movement. LONDON June 12.—Copies of the Murillos, Rubens and Velasquez in the Dulwich Gallery will never be worked off on succeeding generations as originals because the officials in control of the gallery will not permit artists to make copies on canvasses the same size as the original pictures. Americans visit the Dulwich Gallery i ze numbers during the tourist season and seem to be more familiar masterpieces than British . The gallery is attached College. It was established + in 1810, with pictures originally col- lected by a Polish king. At the national gallery in London students are not allowed to make copies of pictures until their canvass has been stamped by a gallery official in such a manner that the copy will always be clearly branded as such. | SPANISH WAR VETERANS | At the last meeting of Henry W.
