NEW ROUTE FOR BUS ASKED BY RESIDENTS Allison Street Property Owners Say 30-Foot Thoroughfare Too Narrow for Line. Discontinuance or a rerouting of the bus line of the Washington Rapid Transit Company along Allison street between Georgia and Jowa avenues is urged in a petition to the Public Utilities Commission from property owners along the thoroughfare. The petition bore 22 signatures and charged that the busses have changed Allison street from “a quiet residen- tlal street.into a nolsy thoroughfare, destructive to the peace and comfort of its residents.” The vibration pro- duced by the big vehicles, it also was charged, has caused cracks in the walls of homes along the street, while the backfiring of the motors makes sleep impossible before midnight and front porch conversations exceedingly annoying. The roadway of Allison street is only 30 feet wide, making it too nar- row for a two-way thoroughfare, the petition also pointed out, and its sur- face is in bad condition, due to the heavy vehicular traffic. of Genuine American Walnut TERMS. $1.50 a Week Pays for This Suite Fine Grade 720 Double-Warp Imported Grass Rugs This represents a belated shipment of choice patterns and colors—to buy now is to save! 27x54 In. 49c 6x9 Ft. $.49 8x10 Ft. $3.49 9x12 Ft. $3.89 All-FiberKolor-fastRugs A limited number of these room-size 9x12-foot rugs, offered in tomorrow’s sale. o zod Imported Rag Rugs Size 24x36 inches, with crowfoot borders..
