COLUMBIA HEIGHTS CITIZENS ELECT Alton B. Carty Named Presi- dent—Efforts to Preserve Parkway Planned. At the annual election of officers of the Columbia Heights Citizens' ciation last night, Alton B. C: chosen president. Dr. Senec: was elected first vice president; beth A. Hayden, second vice president; | Leo Kershenbaum, treasurer and C. Phillips, secretary. Harley Speelman and W. B. Todd were elect- ed delegates to the Federation of Citi- zens’ Associations. The contest be- tween Francis J. Ford and John C. Mulford for second vice president re- sulted in a tie. A special election for this office will be held next month. Walter I. Swanton, the retiring presi- dent, was given a vote of thanks and appreciation for the manner in which he has conducted the affairs of the as- sociation for the past two vears.
