Special Dispatch to The Star. ALEXANDRIA, . October After hearing the preliminary report on the survey of Hooff's Run, made by the local Health Department in co- operation with the United States Public Health Service, the city coun- cil at its meeting yesterday authorized City Manager Morton to employ two assistant engineers to work with City Engineer Dunn in making a survey to determine the cost of laying a trunk line sewer from the upper end of Rosemont through the west end of Alexandria and into Hunting Creek. The preliminary report shows that the stream is a menace to health and it is planned to rush the work to_completion as rapidly as possible. The council also approved the INCORPORATED recommendation of the clty manager to lay @ gas main from the gas works to Russell road in Rosemony. The cost of the work ig estimated at $10,600. The small gas main now in use by Rosemont residents has been the cause of numerous complaints, it be- ing claimed that it is impossible un- der present conditions to get suffl- cient gas for their needs. s Marriage Licenses. 1 #nr{luu licenses have been issued to the ollowing fio,l‘n‘l KM,qh‘\lfll 3!
