MARKET FEATURES Southwestern Carriers Make Best Showing—Price Changes Small. BY GEORCE T. HUGHES. Special Dispatch to The Star. NEW YORK, July 30.—Speculative ralls were again the leaders In the bond trading today. The position of most promise was taken by Missouri, Kansas-Texas adjustments, which were active and strong in sympathy with the preferred stock, in which they are convertible. . International Great Northern adjust- ments improved upon the day before, but there was a slight reaction in the St. Louis-San Francisco {ncomes and the Seaboard adjustments. The latter was a point below Wednesday’s high. Announcement of the new Seaboard financing expected tomorrow, will take the form of a 10-year 6 per cent mort- gage on the Florida lines, probably priced around 981, Missouri Pacific General 45 moved up a half point. Industrials were irregular. Eastern Cuba Sugar 71s dipped below 104 for the first time on this movement, but subsequently recovered. Cuban Cane 8s sold at par. Interborough refund- ing 58 were higher and so were Hud- son and Manhattan 5s. International Mercantile Marine 6s made a new low for the year, below $5. In the high-grade investment Tist, United States Government bonds were steady and the trend in cor- porate issues of the first rank was toward recovery. Dealing, however, was on a small scale. In the foreign group, Poland $s and Degymark 6s both sold off, perhaps in sympathy with the exchange, al- though there is no logical connection. PEACH CROP BEST GEORGIA EVER HAD First Wheat Sells High—Good Tobacco Demand—Rice Two ‘Weeks Early. ATLANTA, July 30.—-The Georgia peach season will close this week with the most profitable year since 1918. About 12,300 cars have been shipped at prices averaging close to $2 a bushel f.ob. orchards. The North Carolina crop promises equally good returns. MINNEAPOLIS, July 30.—The first 1925 wheat ment to market here brought 17 to 35 cents above the mar- ket of $1.50 a bushel for September delivery. The protein content was high, assuring good premiums. MOULTRIE, Ga., July 30.—About 8,000,000 pounds of bright leaf tobacco has been sold at the tobacco auctions in the State so far at prices ranging close to 20 cents a pound. NEW ORLEANS, July 30.—Arrivals of new crop rice are two weeks earller than usual, and are selling around $7.50 a barrel. New rice is bringing about half a cent over old crop sup. plies. SAN FRANCISCO, July 30.—The California asparagus pack is expected to reach about 1,600,000 cases, as com- pared with 1,800,000 last vear. The spinach pack will run over 2,000,000 cases. —_— Simmons Co (2). Simms Pet (1) Sinclatr Of1 Sinclalr pf ( Skelly Ofl....... South Port S (6) South Por pf (8). South Pac (6). Southern Ry (5).
