Patrick, chiet of the Army Air Service, today ap- pointed a board of four officers to select racing pilots for the annual air meet to be hild this year at Mitchel Fleld, Long Island, N. Y. The racing pilots will be selected from nomina- tions sent in to the office of the chief of Alr Service from the various Air Service fields throughout the country. The board is composed of Brig. Gen. James E. Fechet, assistant chief of the Air Service; Maj. W. G. Kilner, Karl S. Hoag. Board Confronted by Problem. The biggest task before the board | is to select an Army aviator to fly the new high-speed airplane now being built for the Pulitzer race. The rec- ord for this race is held by Lieut. A. J. Willlams eof the naval air station here, who, in 1923, at St. Louls, flew the course at 243.67 miles an hour. The Navy again will be represented in the race by one pilot and plane, but no announcement of the fyer's | name has yet been made.
