FINANCIAL. PORK GOES HIGHER - INLOCAL MARKET Best Smoked and Fresh Hams Advanced—Butter and Eggs Unchanged. Slow receipts and slightly increased prices have served to make the mar- ket on pork products much firmer. Smoked hams are much in demand at this season, hot weather always in- the demand. Best smoked hams were quoted to- day at 30 and 32 cents this morning, while fresh hams sold at 28 and 30. Fresh shoulders were quoted at 18 and 20, only sligh lower than the smoked product. NEW YORK, June 26.—The cotton market opened steady today at an ad- vanice of 19 to 38 points on relatively firm Liverpool cables, complaints of continued dry weather in parts of Texas and a report by the Bureau of Entomology indicating a heavy infes- tation of boll weevil in some of the Eastern States. Liverpool was a moderate buver of new crop months here, while there was covering by recent sellers and a moderate commission house demand which sent the price of October up to 23.62, or 29 point: i Trad- ing was moderate!
