Customs duties may be modified if circumstances require. The director general for provisions says that in view of lack of wheat in Spain the price jumped from 39 to 57 pesetas per metric quintal (101.43 dounds). The importation of foreign wheat is to be permitted only until the shortage has been overcome. It is belleved that about 70,000 tons will suffice to bring down the price to 52 | Pesetas per metric quintal.
