MRS. WICKERSHAM DIES AT HER HOM Rites Held Today for Pioneer Worker in Local Christian Science Church. Mrs. Elizabeth C. Wickersham, 62 years old, one of the pioneers in the Christian Sclence movement in this city, died at her home, 2301 Calvert street, yesterday. Mrs. Wickersham was the widow of Turner A. Wicker- sham, for many years a prominent real estate dealer in this ecity. A native of Louisville, Ky., Mrs. Wickersham had been a resident of this'city about 30 years. She was at one time second reader at First Church of Christ, Scientist. Private funeral services were cog- ducted at the resldence today, Elmer L Baldwin, first reader of First Church, officiating. The body will be cremated. Mrs. Wickersham is survived by a son, Morgan W. Wickersham: &n adopted daughter, Miss Jane G. Syme; a sister, Mrs. L. C. Hamilton, all of this city, and a brother, Robert Whedon, of Dallas, Tex. Changes in the city’s building code to require properly constructed chim- neys and to bring about regulation and inspection of heating plants were suggested to Engineer Commissioner Bell by a committee representing the Coal Merchants'sBoard of Trade yes- terday. - Regulation of chimne: the com- mittee said, is needed both to reduce the fire hazard and to permit greater flexibility in the selection of coal by the occupant. On the question of in- specting heating plants, the commit- tee wrote: “From our. observation we find that improperly Installed and inadequate heating plants are the cause of much annoyance and real danger through futile attempts at heating, consequent waste of fuel with its increased cost to the consumer and greatly Increased fire hazard of overheated smoke pipes through continued forcing of an in- sufficlent plant. The heating plants installed in many dwellings are in- adequate either in boller capacity or radiation or both.” The committee told Col. Bell the Coal Merchants' Board of.
