NAVY MUSICIANS | 10 GIVE CONGERT Dance Music by Boern- stein’s Orchestra Aiso on WCAP Program. A concert by the United States Navy Band Orchestra and dance music by ihe Irving Boernstein Wardman Park Hotel Orchestra are the chief attrac- tions on the four-and-one-half-hour program tonight of WCAP. The Navy Band concert will come direct from the auditorium of the Marine Bar- racks, and will be sent to New York over a long-distance telephone cir- cuit, and broadcast by WEAF. Two vocal recitals are scheduled as | the opening numbers. They will be | given by Mrs. Paul Russell, soprano, and Thomas A. Cantwell, tenor, Both will be of 15 minutes’ duration. Talks on Age of Earth. Sandwiched between the vocal re-! citals and_the Navy Band conmcert is a talkk by Dr. F. L. Hess, geologist of he United States Geological Survey on “The Age of the Earth.” This is one of the serics of scientific talks anged by Dr. W. E. Tisdale of the National Research Council and Sci- ence Service. The Navy Band concert will end at 10 o'clock, and WCAP will shift its audience to the Wardman Park Hotel for the dance program, which will last until midnight WRC will broadcast its usual pro- gram of afternoon features between 4 and 6:15 o'clock. These include a song recital by Lawrence E. Murray, bass-baritone; a piano recital, by Eleanor Glynn; a talk, by Elsie Pierce, on “Beauty and Personality”; tea music, by the Meyer Davis Wil- lard Hotel Trio, and the children's period, conducted by Peggy Albion. Speeches at the mass meeting in Jow York of the campalgn committee or the completion of the Cathedral ot St. John the Divine will be broad- cast by WEAF and WCAP Sunday night as an added attraction. As a result the concert by “Roxie” and “his gang” at the Capitol Theater, will be somewhat shorter than usual.
