| ! ) e e N - News of the World By Associated Press ESTABLISHED 1870 JUDGE DENOUNGES SECOND HUSBAND Declanes He Is to Blame for Bigamous Marriage —_— PROSECUTOR ~ MAY ACT Woman Declares Grigorian Knew She Was Another Man's \When He Persuaded Her to Go to New York For Second Ceremony. Continuing the case of Mary Mil- korlan of 063 Lafayette street until tomorrow morning for Judge Benjamin Alling in police court this morning said that all the | evidence in the case tended to show that Richard T. Grigorian of 69 Wil- low strect 18 more at fault than the | woman under arrest. She was charg- ed with bigamy as a result of her alleged marriage to Grigorian in New York city while ghe had a hus- band living in Dorchester, Mass. Judge Willlam F. Mangan, rep- resenting the woman, bitterly de- nounced Grigorian in his argument o the court, describing him as the lowest type of a man he ever had any contact with. He claimed that irigorian was in full knowledge of the fact that the woman had a hus- band ving, from whom she was not divorced, when he persuaded her to go to New York with him and be marrled. “Now, because he has had a falling out with her, he has turned around and is trying to get rid of her in the cheapest way possible by having her convicted of blgamy,” Mangan added. \Woman Accuses Grigorian While on the witness stand. Grigorlan denled that he knew his bride was already married when he went through the ceremony in New York, but admitted that he found it out two months after and continued 1tving with her. The woman told the court that Grigerian knew that she was married and that she had told him before she married him that ghe had left her husband in Dorchester and had not heard from him since. She sald that she told this to Gri- gorian and protested against marry ing him, but he persisted a.n(l finally persuaded her to go to New York with him and get married. She offered a letter in evidence to prove that ke knew she had a husband when she married him, but it was written in Armenian and none in court could translate it. Disposition of the case was con- tinued until tomorrow, Judge Al- ling saying that he would give Prosecutor Joseph G. Woods time to decide what action would be taken regarding Grigorian. Separate After Three Weeks, Bogos Sakayian, the first husband, appeared in court and testifled that he had married Mary Milkorian in July 1921, and that she had left him sbout three weeks after their mar rlage. The woman said she left him because he wanted her to go back to the old country and she want to go. She sald that she lived in Boston for a time and then went to Hartford, from which city she came to New Britain to make her home with her parents. A short time after her ‘here, she met Grigorian and company with him for a time. sald that she wore her wedding ring all the time she went with Grigorian, and all her acquaintances were aware of the fact that she was married. Her parents objected to Grigorian's attentions, according to the testimony.
