NEW ,YORK, August 14.—Trading quieted down in the bond market to- day, but there was still active dgmand for all short term securities. Under these circumstances, present quotations for Liberties \do not look excessively high. Govepment bonds moved over a comparative narrow range today. B. & 0. Allotments Reportéd. It was reported that allotments on the new Baltimore and Ohio 58 would be abaut 20 per cent. The new bonds sold a “when issued” basis at a prem today. The high-grade list in general was steady but dull. Among the speculative rails the feature was the St. Louis-San Frah- cisco issues.
