Q00N Y. POLICE - WILL PARADE HERE {Enright’s “Finest” to Take Part in Holy Name So- ciety Convention. One thousand of “the finest” uni- formed representatives of the New York police force members -of the Holy Name Society are goming in a body to Washington to participate in the Holy Name rally and parade jhere September 21. according to a letter received today by Very Rev. M. J. Ripple, O. I.. national director of the Holy Name Society, from Pat- N. Walsh. president of the New police branch of the Holy Name Daniel Sullivan. superintend- tnt of the Metropolitan police. force ©of Washington. will be officially re- qQuested to appoint a reception com- mnittee of the Washington police to welcome their brother officers from the metropolis. The New York po- lice delegation will be special guests of the Washington committee during the convention. The organization of more than 200 Men to take charge of the convention fiall, the big new gymnasium of the Catholic University, and overflow Teetings in the new stadium, and to take charge of seating the delegates. Was perfected L night when Mgr. Ripple and Patri J. Haltigan, dioce- san director, who is in general charge of the convention, cenferred with the St. Anthony's branch in Brookland. Brookland Men to Act. The Brookland men have been giver the special duty of taking care of all arrangements and conveniences about the Catholic University grounds, where the bulk of the convention ex- ercises will be held. M. J. Dufficy, president of the Brookland branch, is chairman of the convention headquar- ters committee, and will be assisted by more than 20 subcommittees look- ing after various details of the work. Arrangements are being made for a special convention post office to be established in the gymnasium head- quarters. The Chesapeake and Poto- mac Telephone Company also —has agreed to provide telephone booths in the headquarters. Luncheon will be gerved under the trees on the Catholic University campus. Virginia and western and southern Maryland branches of the Holy Name Society have had representatives at the convention headquarters here making arrangements for special di- visions in the big parade.
