SEE RELIGION BRINGING REVOLUTION IN RUSSIA Anti-Communist Leaders Declare Farmers Will Rise Against Ruling Powers. By Cable to The Star and_Chicago Daily News. Copyright. 1924 VIENNA, June 25.—Maxim Gorky escaped from Russia with part of his wealth by pretending to sympathize with the communists. As Leon Trot- sky says, “with honeyed phrases about Lenin, Gorky fooled us and ob- tained sick leave, but once across the frontier he dropped his mask. Gorky sail: “Bolshevist leaders, re- member my words, the day will come when the Russian peasant will rise against your terror and without pity will remove your heads.” Other exiled anti-Communist Ru sian leaders ajso say the time will come when the Russian farmer will return to religion and. from deep- rooted religious faith, obtain inspira- tion for a revolution against the Com- munists who have tried to uproot all traditions and ideals. ‘The soviets are attempting to unite European farmers in a section of the third international, now meeting at Moscow with delegates from many statcs, but these delegates usually | represent only themselves. However, the movement has found some followers in Rumania _through dissatisfied Besgarabians, in Bulgaria through Stamboulisky's followers and in Jugo- slayia through Croats. Generally, European peasants ure conservative and anti-Communist. TWO AGENTS INDICTED. Held by Grand Jury Hearing Pay Roll Robbery. _GAINESVILLE, Fla., June 25.—L. E. Nott, claim agent, and L.
