Sessions Expected Here by End of Week. HOLD CONFERENCES FRIDAY Headquarters Are Established at Central High. The vanguard of delegates to the sigty-second annual convention of the Natlonal Education Association, which convenes in Washington Sunday, for a six-day session, began arriving today. By the end of the week, a majority of them are expected to be here, pre- pared for what romises to be the most important conclave in the his- tory of the organization. At least 20000 educators and teach- ers from every city, town and hamlet in the United States are coming. The number may exceed 30,000, according to estimates of official® of the asso- ciation, who have made adeguate preparations for such an enormous gathering. Specials Due Saturday. Special trains will bring many of the delegates and teachers. Those from the far west are now en route. The first of the special trains will arrive Saturday, but the peak loads are not scheduled to reach here un- til Sunday and early Monday. Central High School is now being transformed Into the headquarters for the convention. The principal sessions will be held in the auditorium and the stadium. The registration booths will be opened at Central Satur- day morning at 8:30 o'clock. More than a score of Washington high ool girls are now working at Central lling envelopes with printed matter for the conventions. Approximately 2,000.000 pages of literature will be distributed Quring the meeting. Confergnces Start Friday. Althouzh the convention will not open until Sunday, with the first for- mal mecting Monday, official confer- ences of the officers of the association will be held Friday and Saturday. The executive committee will meat Sat- urday morning at 9 o'clock. A con- ference of the board of trustees will h-ld Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock, the board of directors will hold session Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The new board of directors will meet tomorrow afternoon. The committee on audit and budget is to meet Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock. June 25— Eight state policemen were sworn in by the Hyattsville mayor and coun- cil last night. The officers who at present patrol the state roads were given authority to make arrests in Hyattsville as town underbailiffs.
