NEW YORK, June 25—F. B. Rentschler, president of the Wright Aeronautical Corporation, said yes- terday that an investigation by the Navy Department into the cause of the forced descent of the naval sea- plane at Anacostis, D. C., on June 23 after it had broken endurance and distance records, revealed the fact| that the flow of fuel to the engine was stopped by the failure of a fan- driven pump on the wing. The 600-horsepower Wright engine was found to be in perfect condition. Mr. Rentschler declared, and could have kept the seaplane in the air if the accessory part had not ceased to function.
