ALEXANDRIA, Va, May 7 (Spe- cial)—John Williams, colored, who several days ago forfeited his bond when he failed to appear to answer an indictment brought by the April grand jury charging him with steal- ing a quantity of leather, was arrest- ed yesterday and today held for the further action of the grand jury on a charge of criminal assault upon an | aged colored woman. Williams had been successfully eluding the police since he leaped from the side car of a motor cycle on the night of April 21 and escaped from Officers Padgett and Driscoll.
