The young people’s Department of the Home Missionary Soclety of the| Methodist Episcopal Church will hold its quarterly rally at Dumbarton Methodist Church next Wednesday at 8 pm. A program has been planned under the leadership of Miss Verna ans, District mite box secretary. Miss Maude Aiton, who has charge of the Americanization schools of the District of Columbia, will make a short address, and some of her students in costume will tell of their progress in education. There are 156 of these homes in England, which act as legal guard- ians, protectors and schoolmasters for destitute boys and girls. For nearly sixty years no destitute child has been refused admission. Thirty thousand graduates of these homes are now living on the American con- tinent and a very large number are American_ citizens. Less than 2 per cent of the boys and girls who have been trained in these homes have failed to make good upon arrival at maturity. Eleven thousand Barnardo boys served in the armies and navies of the allies during the war.
