BALTIMORE, Md., December 22 ~—Boys who trap rabbits between now and the end of this month are assured a good market for their catch by announcement of 5. Lee Lecompte, state game warden. Mr. Lecompte says he has authorized the distriot deputy mame warden in each county to pay $1 for every rabbit trapped until January 1 in covers of this state. The same offer was made last year. Rabbits so caught, Mr. Lecompte says, should be presented to the county officials within a few days after New Year day. Transfer will ke made shortly after the turn of the year. The factorfes on eighty-three acres at Babbitt, N. Y., are included in the deal. NEW YORK, December street’s Review today says “As way to be ekpected at this sea- son, the burden of the reports this week is as to the volume of holtday buying, but despite the natural ten- dency to reckon sales in one total, a rather sharp line of demarcation is drawn in the reports between holi- day buying proper and ordinary re- tall trade. As to the first mentioned, there is very general agreement that seasonal or gift buying has surpassesd all rec- ords, but practically all reports nevertheless testify to unseason- ably warm weather holding down final distribution of seasonal wear- ing apparel. The attorney general's office an- nounced that prosecutions would fol- low evidences of fraud disclosed. Of- flcials of the state board of pharmacy will also investigate the charge. Fee $75 Charged. | One of the schools, Mr. Dworkin isald, was _chartered by the state of Illinois. Degrees, he declared, were granted after students had completed a three months' correspondence course comprising ten lessons. The fee was in_some cases as low as $75, he as- serted. Formerly $200 was charged for a nine months’ course, he said, but a cut rate war on a rival caused the reduction. In addition, Mr. Dworkin charged that the schools granted degrees of graduate in pharmacy to their pupils for an extra fee of ten to fifteen dol- lars. This degree, he said, required a two-year study course in accredited universities, while that of doctor could not be awarded until the re- cipient had studied for six years. ! By the Associated Press, NEW YORK, December 22 —The cotton market was very quiet early today, with traders attributing the greater part of the small business to further evening up for over Christ- mas. Liverpool made a relatively firm showing and the opening here was steady at an advance of 6 to 11 points. Prices sagged off several points after the call under realizing, but after selling at 24.80 January ral- lied to 34.97 or 15 points net higher on covering, and other months simi- lar fluctuations. Private cables re- ported a healthy undertons in Liver- pool owing to a moderate trade de- mand and small offerings.
