Supreme Court Agree on Settlement. When the-first ten cases are called for atgument in the United States Supreme Court after it meets October 1 three of them will be dismissed without a hearing, connsel having agreed on a settlement without awaiting action by the court. One of the cases to be dismissed came from Illinois and was brought by the Indiana and Iilinois Coal Cor- poration and Herman C. Perry, who objected to golng to Indlana to answer an indictment for an alleged violation of the Lever act during the war. The government has agreed to a settlement entirely satisfactory to the other parties to the sult. Another case which will be drop- ped from the docket comes from Mississippi, brought by the direct general of railroads uader the fed- \eral employes’ liability act. The third is the case of the Hills- boro Coal Company and Rice Miller, who were charged under the Lever t with restricting production of coal during the war in_connection with the strike of the United Mine Workers of America in the central competitive fleld.
