CHICAGO, April 13.—Thjrteen per cent more cattle were on feed in the eleven corn-belt states on April 1, 1023, than on April 1, 1922, according 2o an estimate given out today by the United States Department of Agricul- ture. This .covers only cattle on Srain feed for market. The s es east of the Mississippl river as a whole show an increase of 15 per cent and the six states west an in- crease of 1215 per cent. The cattle on_feed are largely of, light weights. Five per cent weigh 1,300 pounds and over; 13 per cent weigh 1,100 to 1.300 pounds; 21 per knt 500 to 1,100 pounds; 29 per cent 700 to 900 pounds, and 32 per cent less than 700 pounds. The reported probable time of mar- keting distributes the supply fairly evenly over the next six months. Ac- cording to expressed intentions 17 per cent will be marketed in April, 19 per cent in May, 16 per cent in June, 15 per cent in July, 9 per cent in ugust and 24 per cent in September or later.
