This Mission was founded in 1884 by a union efiort of the Evangelical churches, and is now, as it always has been, the Mission of the Churches, governied by a Board of Di- rectors who are elected at an annual meeting. of which every Evangelical pastor of the city is a constituent mem- ber. There is also a Ministerial: Council which represents the several Ministerial Associations of the District and is elected by them. The property, which is now free from in- cumbrance, is held in trust for the churches, and with the beginning of the New Year a special effort will be put forth to complete the amount needed to erect the new building upon which it is expected operations will begin in the _early spring.
