The health officer and superintendent of po- lice are now making, in conjunction with some members of the board of health, # sanitary in- spection of the city, with a view of promoting measures to remove bet the heat of summer everything likely to be prejndicial to the publia health. ‘Lhe nuisances which are pecially for- bidden by the corporation ordinances ere graves within city limite, slaughter houses, ill- kept outhouses, dead ‘animals, foul water, atrid substances, kitchen offal, brick or lime ins near dwellings, cows or goats astray, old hulks, unticensed bars, new or candie factories, drums at night, dixcharging firearans, sunken lote or grasey gutters, but any other thing prejudicial t0 the health ot comfort of the people of the townare also nuisances, The ranitary survey now in progress is an effort to discover such nuisances and to secure their abatement.
