In this pleasant way the firm celebrated the first anniversary of their removal to their new build- ing. The invitations issued by the firm were framed in such @ generous way that the depositors were able to bring their friends witi: them, The result was that not only the large number of business men and citizens who do business with this firm were prosent, but also a good contingent of othors ‘The lunch was served in the office rooms in the rear of the banking room and from 12 to 2 o'clock the waiters were kept busy in supply ing the hungry guests with the variety of substantials and dainties that go to make a good lunch. The mombors of the firm dispensed a pleasing hospitality and made every one welcome. During the hours named it was estimated that at least 1,500 people par- took of lunch, and the hosts of the occasion were highly pleased, although somewhat tired. The ordinary every-day business appearance of the office rooms was brightened up. and the air was made fragrant by the floral decorations, which were supplied by Messrs, A.
