I respectfully submit that the city authorities should not'enly remove them frequently, but should not allo w them to be accumulated. Native si ae - A Peculiar Freak. THE FLORIDA SENATORSHIP. Call's vote in the Florida democratic caucus last night ran up to 53, seven short of his high- est ballot. This was due to the votes of Mann of Baker county and Parker of De Sota, who had previously been supporting Bloxham. Two ballots were taken, the seventy-fourth and seventy-fifth in the fight, resulting: Call, 53; Mays, 44; Bloxham, 1. A special from Tallahassee to the New York Times says: The three members of the legisla- ture from Jefferson county are tho most im- portant men in Florida just now. One of them, D. H. Mays, is ranning for United States Senator in the caucus and is voting regularly either for Bloxham or Long. The other two, Senator Thomas and Representative Morris, are voting for Call. But both factions are fighting hard for these two votes, the one to hold them, the other to get them away from Call. The city is full of Jefferson county men, lobbying for one side or the other, and the —— interest centers in the result. e Cali men tell these two legislators that if they desert Call they will antagonize his friends, who in turn will knife Pasco two years from now. Jefferson county has sct her heart ona second term for Pasco, The anti-Call men tell them that if they persist in supportin; Call they will split the party in the county an thus kill Pasco off sure. So the two represen- tatives are between Sevilla and Charybdis, and likely to go on the rocks any day. If they quit Call it means a general break for Mays, and the Call men are making a desperate effort to hold them.
