A CHARTER REVOKED. The Trouble in the Local Commands of | _ Destrrcrz Cawar Prorix.—Thero were the Union Veteran Union. The difficulty between some of the local com- mands of the Union Veteran union of the de- partment of the Potomac has culminated in an order issued by W. C. Clark, the commander- in-chief at Cleveland, Ohio, revoking the char- ter of Sheridan command. No. 3, department of the Potomac. The members of this com- mand, with those of other commands, elected some time ago J. C. De Putron commander of the department, while the delegates from the commands claiming to be regular elected John Welch. The dispute will be brought before the national convention, which meets in Co- lumbus next fall. ——»___ The Diamond Robbery. Yesterday afternoon, after the Police Court adjourned, Assistant District Attorney Armes entered a nolle pros. in the case of ex-Police- man Thomas Reidy, who was charged by De- tective Block with stealing diamond jewelry from the house of Secretary Tracy at the time of the fire, and the defendant was discharged from custody, i “Brothers of the Iron Band.” The Jewish order of Kesher Shel Barzel, or “Brothers of the Iron Band,” will meet at Edel’s hail tomorrow evening. The convention is composed of one delegate from each lodge ofthe order. The order has three districts, Nos. 1, Sand 4 No. 2 (California) has drop- Re out on account of the ritual. The mem- rship is nearly 15,000 and is composed of representative Jews. The Montefiore home for the aged and infirm at Cleveland, Ohio, was endowed by this order. Th@Poneral of J. Jay Camp, who was for Many Years an assistant clerk of the court, took place yesterday afternoon. The services at Trinity P.E. church, where Rev. Dr. officiated. The remains, in a cloth- eOvered casket, were almost hidden from view by the floral offerings, among them one from the members of the bar showing the scales of Justice in nephetos roses on each side of a scroll ing @ brief, upon which was inscribed in purple immortelles “Finis.” Red roses formed a seal of the court, from which depended rose-tinted ribbons.
