One of the features of the imposing cere- monies which mark the religious celebration of Christmas is the elaborate program of music presented in the churches. This is especially the case in the Roman Catholic and Episcopal churches, in all of which services will be held Wednesday, For weeks preparations have been in progress for this event and the various church choirs have been engaged in rehearsing the music, The works of the masters who have written on the grand and joyful themes sug- gested by the anniversary are reproduced, not only with fidelity but with skill and effect. Hennessey of New Orleans, dated Decem- ber 19, inclosing a good picture of Jamos B. Buck alias Brown, arrested in that city for hotel robbery, and giving the name of Joba White slias J. B. Brown. Buck, it will be re- membered, was arrested at the Arlington hotel in December, 1838, when attempting to get away with the diamonds of Mra. Cora Urqubart Potter, then playing an engagemeut here, He was tried a few days afterward and was con- yicted and sentenced to the penitentiary for two yours.
