De marzo El comienzo del raciona-' miento de frutas y vegeta- les en lata, en bote y con- gelados, así como de jugos, sopas y frutas secas, nos da- rá una idea más clara del modo de funcionar el méto- do de puntos para el racio- na miento. Las grandes reduce ciones en las raciones de co- mestibles en conserva para consumo de la población ci- vil—resultado de las enor- mes cantidades que hacen fal ta para nuestros combatien tes, y de la reducción en la- tas para ahorrar los meta- les críticos—nos obliga a re- partirnos las existencias dis- ponibles ¡por medio del ra- cionamiento que empezará el primero de marzo. El. 20 de febrero dejarán de venderse los víveres recio nados. Una semana después empezará la inscripción pa- ra el Carnet Número Dos de Raciones de Guerra, cosa que se efectuará en las es- cuelas, iglesias, centros pú- blicos y otros sitios conve: nientes para los vecinos re- sidentes en lugares lejanos. En caso de mal tiempo, po- drá efectuarse la inscripción por correo. Un miembro de la familia podrá solicitar car nets para todos mediante la presentación del Carnet Nú- mero Uno de Raciones. El primer período de ra- cionamiento abarcará el mes de marzo teniendo el posee- dor del Carnet Número Dos derecho a 48 puntos en cu- pones para emplearlos en la compra de comestibles en conserva que tenga en su casa el 21 de febrero y que , pasen de cinco latas por per sona, siempre que el conte- nido sea de más de 8 onzas por lata. Los productos en- vasados en la casa no se con tarán. Al solicitar el carnet de racionamiento, el consu- midor tendrá que entregar una “ solicitud de consumi- dor,” indicando los comesti- bles. en conserva que tenía el 21 de febrero y la canit- dad de café que tenía el 28 de noviembre, día en que em pezó el racionamiento de es- te artículo. «La declaración de lo que tiene en casa no quiere de- cir que el solicitante sea aca parador, puesto que muchas familias tienen la costumbre de guardar cierta cantidad d comestibles en conserva.
