A contest over the will of the late ~ Mrs. Anna U. Sankey of New Ro- chelle, widow of Ira L. Sankey, who was the son of Ira D, Sankey, the evangelist, brought by five use they had been cut off from @ share in her estate of $250,009, was'started to-day before Surrogate Slater and a jury at White Plains. Under the terms of tho will of Mrs. Sankey, who @led on Jan. 29, 1922, the «estate as inherited by twenty-seven beneficiaries,” including _ cousins, and who are the contéstants are Julia U. Searing, Blien L, Underhill, Carrio M. Cooper, Maltby 8. Underhill and Benjamin I. Underhill of New Ro- chelle, ‘Through their attorney, M. J. Tier- ney of New Rochelle, they contend that Mrs. Sankey was not mentally competent to make a will and that she did not realize she was disinheriting some of her cousins while giving other cousins large bequests.
