Between July 1, 1917, and Jam. 1, 1913, Mr. Wallstein was Commissioner of Accounts. I do not understand why he wants the papers between the in- dicated dates unless it be for the pur- ose of investigating himself." Public hearings in the committee's investigation will begin in City Hau July 6, Mr. Meyer has written Mayor Hylan and the President of the Board of Aldermen asking permis- sion to use the Board of Estimate Chamber, A representative of the committee has asked to-day whether the com- mittee has any serious, incriminating evidence.
